Doug, the dog in Up, totally made the movie for me! Great at the ending when he sees only gray cars, because dogs are color blind! Haha!

@litso your keyboard cat link was hilarious! Wasted a good half hour last night :)
@MossyBlog Just tried the demo of that last night on Xbox Live. Seemed pretty fun, but I guess it’s pretty easy, huh? http://myloc.me/18LK

Best Movie Poster Designs
My previous post on Tron reminded me of how awesome the poster design was. That and the Art Deco styled Rocketeer are, in my opinion, two of the best poster designs ever.
The Tron poster seems obviously inspired by the Star Wars poster, but I still like the Tron one better.
Tron Touchscreen Desk
Remember the touchscreen desk in Tron? This was so ahead of its time! It looks so sleek with the glass above it. Inspiration for Microsoft Surface?
Just watched the finale of Scrubs! It was great but sad at the same time. I’ve been a big fan for the past 8 years.
Got a Microsoft Arc mouse. Way smoother and more responsive than my MX Revolution, which I always thought may have been a defective model.
New Kindle DX has a much larger screen, automatic rotation, native PDF support, and geared more towards education. http://bit.ly/ObpHX
Starbucks Multi-Region Coffee
My first Maya video (with some After Effects). Still need to add audio to it. It’s looking pretty jaggy in Vimeo. I’ll try different compression settings when I upload the version with audio.
You can check out the original output here: realityslip.com/starbucks_coffee_jpeg.mov
@MossyBlog Yup, it’s really powerful. I used to mess around with 3D 8-10 years ago (3dsmax and softimage) and everything was so much harder.
Screenflow is a very slick screencasting app. Produces the smoothest frame rate capture I’ve seen yet. @screenflow http://bit.ly/uCSEs
@MossyBlog Haha just read your Maya tweet. I just started using it a few months ago. Made this over the weekend: http://bit.ly/uqEyU

Tip: After Effects Rendering
It’s a good idea to always export your renders as uncompressed files. Then compress your full quality render by re-exporting, or, even better, use a third party tool to do your compression. Quicktime Pro works well. This way you have a full quality version of your project and you don’t have to re-render the whole thing if you need to tweak the compression settings.
If you’re...
Never batch render Mental Ray with PNGs (on a Mac anyway). Everything comes washed out. Targa (TGA) is the way to go.
